Crowdsourcing Justice ™ Without Warning®
Without Warning® is a true crime in real-time. This podcast goes behind the scenes with renowned private investigator Sheila Wysocki as she pulls back the curtain on official police investigations of real, tragic deaths that just don’t add up.
In Season One of the Without Warning® podcast, Wysocki investigates the tragic death of Lauren Agee, who died while attending a lakeside boating event with friends. Is the police's conclusion that it was an accident consistent with all the evidence? Hear what Lauren's mother, her friends, others at the scene, and law enforcement have to say.
In Season Two of Without Warning®, Wysocki turns her attention to Christian Andreacchio, who was found in his bathtub with a bullet hole in his head by friends who called 911 believing he had shot himself. But does the physical evidence add up to suicide? Hear what Christian's mother, his friends, and law enforcement have to say. You decide who’s telling the truth, who’s lying, what happened to the evidence, and whether the police investigation was done right in this true-crime podcast.
In Season Four of Without Warning® Podcast, Wysocki takes the listener through the Jonathan Crews case. Brenda Lazaro called 911 saying Jonathan wanted to show her how much he loved her and shot himself. The evidence tells a different story.

Donut Shop Murders
In the era of some of the most heinous serial killers of all time, one murderous family went curiously unnoticed: The McCrarys. Led by a psychopathic patriarch and his cunning son-in-law, this Texas clan roamed the country robbing, kidnapping, and killing up to 20 people, most of them taken from donut shops. “Families Who Kill: The Donut Shop Murders” recounts the wild and deeply disturbing story of an unhinged American family and the terrible brutality they unleashed. The podcast features the taped confessions of one of the killers, given when he was serving a life term in Colorado. Listen Here: http://wondery.fm/DSM_WithoutWarning

KILLER PSYCHE
What causes people to become killers? KILLER PSYCHE is a true-crime podcast from Wondery that covers high-profile cases that shocked the world. Host Candice Delong uses her experience as a clinical psychiatric nurse and FBI Criminal Profiler to dissect the motivations and behaviors of the most terrifying criminals in history. In a recent episode, Candice explores the case of Pedro Rodrigues Filho, also known as The Brazilian Dexter. Rodrigues went on to murder, by his count, more than 100 people -- most of them while he was behind bars. To many, he was a hero -- a vigilante seeking justice for victims. But to others, he was just a cold-blooded murderer.

Harsh Reality
This must show as the episode description of your feed drop. It was supposed to be a reality show with a twist. In a sun-drenched villa in Ibiza, six hot guys compete for a cash prize and for the love of the beautiful and mysterious Miriam. It’s meant to be her big break: the moment she becomes the superstar she was born to be. But this is the era of “cruel reality TV” and the show producers have a different goal: they want to surprise the men with the fact that Miriam is trans. A new six-episode investigative series from Wondery, the makers of The Shrink Next Door and The Apology Line, and from Novel, HARSH REALITY is the story about love, lies, reality TV and a woman before her time: Miriam Rivera. Shrink Next Door
Veteran journalist Joe Nocera’s neighbor in the Hamptons was a therapist named Ike. Ike counted celebrities and Manhattan elites as his patients. He’d host star-studded parties at his eccentric vacation house. But one summer, Joe discovered that Ike was gone and everything he’d thought he’d known about his neighbor -- and the house next door -- was wrong. From Wondery, the company behind Dirty John and Dr. Death, and Bloomberg, “The Shrink Next Door” is a story about power, control and turning to the wrong person for help for three decades. Written and hosted by Joe Nocera, a columnist for Bloomberg. The Shrink Next Door is now an Apple Original series, starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd. Watch now only on Apple TV+.

Crowdsourcing Justice ™ Science Is Truth
This episode is about reconstructing the crime scene, taking the time to review the case, the factual information to come up with a reasonable conclusion.
Remember the story that has fueled this case, Jonathan so in love with Brenda never mind the facts of the case but Jonathan pulled out a gun after getting under the covers while Brenda is at the foot of the bed, allegedly says to her Baby I love you and I am going to show you how much I love you. Jonathan is so concerned about Brenda’s delicate ears being damaged, Jonathan tells Brenda to cover her ears while in pain with a shoulder injury and then allegedly shoots himself getting only 5 particles of gun powder residue in a defensive move while Southwestern Medical Lab shows the only other person in the room is covered in gun powder residue? Let’s not get the facts of the physical evidence in the way of ruling on a case. Most of Brenda’s accounts of the shooting have her so far away from Jonathan at the time of the shooting that she had to run to him. To make matters worse a Coppell Department police officer made the comment to Pam Crews that gun powder residue on someone doesn’t mean anything, well how about the LACK of gun powder residue on someone? Is that a lack of training, ineptness, or corruption?

Shadow of Truth
It’s one of the most haunting murder cases you’ll ever hear about, and it takes place in a small town in Israel. Tair Rada was only 13-years-old when her body was found inside a locked bathroom stall. She was viciously murdered during a school day, and yet no one saw or heard a thing. The police arrested the janitor, Roman Zadorov, and he eventually confessed, but this was far from being the end of it. Based on the hit true-crime series from Netflix, the podcast "Shadow of Truth" will take you on a journey into one of the wildest and most contested murder cases in the history of Israel, as it reaches its final resolution, 15 years after it all started.

Crowdsourcing Justice™Science Doesn't Lie People Do: The Jonathan Crews Case
What did you think of Karen Petree’s episode? Did she appear to know more than what she was testifying too? Did she contradict herself? Join my Patreon group to discuss this case in detail.
In this episode I will be discussing the day’s events leading up to Jonathan’s death.
By all accounts Jonathan Crews was a stable, happy young man with a loving family and friends. The only witness present was the girlfriend he had broken up with the same day after Jonathan concluded that her extreme jealousy was too much to tolerate.
Usually in an investigation you go back a few days, what did Jonathan do, who did he see, where did he go, investigators want to get an idea about his state of mind, did anyone notice changes in him. Where would an investigator start? Friday at work to get first-hand information from his co-workers. I went to Concentra, spent hours with the employees interviewing. I learned so much about Jonathan and Brenda for that matter. Story after story their relationship was unmasked.

Crowdsourcing Justice™Just Karen
Investigating cases, you want to talk to every person that might have knowledge especially the people Brenda saw the next day. Brenda was very busy the next day, we know by her phone that she saw Matthew Kirk and Karen Petree. I already spoke to Matthew, and I went to Sherman High School to talk to Karen. Chris Hawkins a private investigator and I teamed up to work together on this case. Chris and I went to the High School prior to first class and sat down with Karen. Karen described what Brenda had told her, however, there was hesitation from her. We knew she had more knowledge which led her to a deposition.
The legal definition of a deposition is a formal statement that someone who has promised to tell the truth makes so that the statement can be used in court.
Karen was subpoenaed to appear for a deposition to tell the truth and what she knew about the case surrounding Jonathan’s death.
Listen to bits and pieces of Karen's deposition.

Crowdsourcing Justice™ Pam Crews Q and A with Patreon Group PART 2
For those that started listening to Jonathan Crews case and haven't been with me for the last three seasons after you finished, Jonathan Crews case start at the beginning of, Without Warning with Lauren Agee case. I do these podcasts to bring the public behind the curtain, to see what really happens in cases, the heartaches of the victim's family, the deceit from the government officials, the dedication to finding the truth. The journey is a hard one. As a professional investigator. I appreciate the public with the help and dedication to the stories, the victim's families, and finding the truth. When I'm asked to do speaking engagements about private investigating, I tell the audience podcasting is the single best investigative tool I have available in cold cases. In this week's episode, you are hearing part two of Pam speaking with my Patreon group. I want to hear what you think about the description being shared by Pam.

Suspect
A big Halloween party at an apartment complex in Redmond, Washington. Themed rooms and costumed partygoers. But by the end of the party, one of the hosts is dead. The police look to the partiers as the prime suspects: was it the guy in the devil mask, the bank robber, the construction worker? As investigators comb through forensic evidence, witness testimony, DNA, and even consult with a psychic, they zero in on one suspect in particular. But for what reason? Host and reporter Matthew Shaer (Over My Dead Body) returns to the scene of the crime, speaks with everyone about a night that still haunts them years later. It’s a series about race and policing, mislaid justice, cutting-edge science, and the kinds of weighty choices that cops and prosecutors make every day -- choices that, once made, are difficult to reverse.

Bad Blood: The Final Chapter
Bad Blood
The criminal trial of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of the blood-testing start-up Theranos, promises to be momentous. It won’t just be the charismatic young woman with a preternaturally deep voice who’ll be on a trial in a federal courtroom in San Jose, California this March; it will be the culture of Silicon Valley as a whole. A culture that thrives on loose business ethics and exalts rule-breaking as a virtue. Hosted by John Carreyrou is an award-winning investigative reporter. He is the author of the best-selling book, “Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup.” He was the first to break the scandal of the bloodtesting company Theranos in 2015, in the Wall Street Journal.

In the last episode, you heard from the Crews family. Pam, John, and Dani reliving the heart-wrenching night Jonathan died. Henry Su called Pam after he picked up Brenda from the police station.
In this week’s episode, I will go through the night of the shooting, what Brenda told the police, and of course what Brenda told THE FAMILY and their members.

You will hear all the stories that Brenda told THE FAMILY members about the same night and the same circumstances but different scenarios: Jonathan was standing up, Jonathan was laying down, It was an accident, it was on purpose, he didn't know there was a bullet in the chamber the stories go on and on.

Originally, I was told she was born at Parkland Hospital but later found out that wasn’t true, according to her sister Isela she was born in Oregon. The family moved to Mexico when Brenda was around 5 years old. Brenda’s family moved back to the states specifically Irving, Texas when Brenda was a teenager. According to Brenda, she had a rough home life.
It has been reported that Brenda started at North Lake College in the spring of 2006. Brenda also joined WuYi in Coppell, TX under Henry Su approximately ten years prior to meeting Jonathan. Henry Su presents himself as a mentor to the kung fu members or a father figure. One thing was for sure, Henry Su had a following, Henry Su referred to them as “The Family”. In this podcast, I too will refer to them as the family. I will go deeper into the loyalty of “The Family” in another episode. Here is Henry Su talking about his relationship with Brenda, the Family, and Jonathan asking Henry to date Brenda.

Crowdsourcing Justice™Just Jonathan
On February 2nd, 2014, a 911 call came into the Coppell Police Department Dispatch. The caller Brenda Lazaro. Brenda claimed her boyfriend Jonathan Crews shot himself in the chest. She told the dispatch they had a discussion earlier in the day, eaten dinner, watched TV and then talked in the bedroom, him lying in bed and she is sitting on the floor.
“We were just having a discussion and we were just talking,” Lazaro said to the 911 operator. “He just said that he loved me, and I didn't need to leave him and ... he said that he was going to prove that he loved me.” She then claims Jonathan told her to cover her ears and shot himself in the chest.
However, the evidence tells another story.

Smoke Screen S2: I Am Rama Promo
Season 2 tells the story of Frederick Lenz, a brilliant-but-troubled spiritual leader in the 80s and 90s. Beloved by many -- and eventually reviled by many others -- Lenz promoted his own brand of New Age spiritualism, calling himself Rama and helming what his detractors would describe as a cult. Rama defied society’s archetypal vision of a spiritual leader, eschewing minimalism for wealth andcelebrity. He was, in a word: cool. Rama also seemed to be a man ahead of his time, encouraging his followers to develop careers in computer science before that was mainstream, and asking them to funnel much of their wages back to him. For some of his followers, following Rama's lead worked out spiritually, and financially too. But for others, Rama's actions contradicted his cool persona; some eventually came forward with accusations of abuse. Others vanished. Whistleblowers went to the media, and the group began to shrink and splinter. Things got ugly for everyone, including Rama. In 1998, in physical andemotional pain, Rama took a lethal dose of barbiturates, walked out to the end of a dock in Long IslandSound, and never came back. Hosted by award-winning storyteller Jonathan Hirsch (Dear Franklin Jones), this series will examine the rise and fall of Rama, and the long tail of his legacy of followers.

The Doodler
The untold story of the Doodler is a new documentary podcast series from Ugly Duckling Films.
· The show unravels the case and dives into the archive of the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Police Dept
· The Doodler, known for drawing portraits of his victims, is a serial killer who committed violent targeted attacks against the LGBTQ community in the San Francisco area between 1974 and 1975.
· He brutally beat and murdered at least 5 gay men and got away with it due to little evidence and lack of attention from the media and the police at the time
· Justice was never served as the case was mostly overlooked until now
· SFPD re-opened the case in 2018 and is still an ongoing open case
o The SFPD believes the Doodler is still alive today and has released an age-progressed sketch of the suspect
· Host Kevin Fagan is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated reporter at The San Francisco Chronicle
o He’s covered the Zodiac, the Unabomber, and mass murderers from Coast to Coast
o He started his own investigation along with veteran reporter Mike Taylor in order to gather more evidence that could push the SFPD to arrest and charge their suspect.

Crowdsourcing Justice™Investigation DeRailed Q & A Episode 16
Episode 16 for Investigation Derailed “Q&A”
I’m always amazed at how much listeners know about Kadie’s case and what amazing thoughts they have. You guys ask the most insightful questions, so today I’m going to answer the ones that seem to matter most to you. This is a tough case to investigate, made even harder by COVID restrictions, so it’s been incredibly helpful to have all of the information and support you’ve given to the family. Let’s dive right in – but I will warn you – some of the answers to your questions are going to leave you madder than you were when you asked them.
Show Description: For the past three years, a master con artist has lured a long and growing list of entertainment industry professionals to Indonesia and scammed them out of tens of thousands of dollars by posing as powerful female Hollywood producers pretending to be setting up big-budget film projects. From extracting money to holding blackmail material to even baiting a male victim into phone sex, there seemed no limit to what this person was willing - and able - to do. It’s a story that involves a brilliant sociopath, powerful producers who have had their identities stolen, and a dogged female private investigator who’s chased their online shadow for years (often from her NJ home after her kids are in bed). In this series, two journalists and hosts, Josh Dean and Vanessa Grigoriadis go deep into the most devious and outrageous scam in Hollywood history—one that’s fooled trainers, make-up artists, and security guards, and also dragged in some of the most powerful women in entertainment. The story is a bit of the man hunt—listeners are following along, participating in hunting this guy and hopefully at the end find of the show, an arrest has been made and listeners find out who it is.

“Public Records are Available to the Public – Aren’t They?”
Without Warning – Investigation Derailed, Episode 15 “Public Records are Available to the Public – Aren’t They?”
Getting answers to simple questions should be a simple process but often, it isn’t. How many times should you have to contact a public agency in order to get records that are supposed to be available to the public? Twice? Three times? Is four or five tries too many? You’ll be amazed at how much effort it took one of Sheila’s volunteer crowdsourcers to find out if she could get footage from a town owned security camera. And that’s only after she proved its existence to them.

In this episode, we continue to evaluate the first investigation, and the later one in 2018. You’ll be shocked at how different some official records are from what Vicky remembers. Write This Down
When conducting an investigation, one of the most important things you can do after identifying and securing all evidence is to write a good report about what you have uncovered. Anyone who reads your report in the future should be able to reconstruct the scene and know who all of the players were. Let’s take a look at the evidence gathering and documentation in Kadie, River, and Aadon’s case to see what was done, what wasn’t done, and what it means to Vicky’s search for justice.

MINI BONUS Episode "Preliminary Investigation"
Imagine that you’ve been in a terrible accident, and you are rushed to the hospital. Doctors and nurses are buzzing in and out, checking your vitals, and administering medication. But as the hours pass, you realize that no one is writing anything down in your chart. And curiously, no one is asking you how you are doing, what you remember, or wanting to know your medical history. You start to panic, because you know that you might be getting too much or too little medication. You may have injuries no one has noticed, because no one has examined you. What if you are getting important treatment because the caregivers assigned to your case don’t know what the other team members have done? What if someone isn’t doing what they are supposed to? Who would ever know?
Just as we would expect medical professional to understand the critical importance or proper documentation, we should demand nothing less from law officers sworn to protect and serve us. Doctors go through years of training to be able to learn best practices so they can deliver high quality, consistent healthcare to their patients. Competent death scene investigators do the same. There are best practices for securing scenes, avoiding bias, collecting evidence, evaluating that evidence, and coming to evidence-based conclusions. These investigations should proceed in a logical and methodical manner and what is discovered should be meticulous documented. Today, we are going to compare industry accepted best practices for death scene investigation documentation to what was done in the case of Kadie, River, and Aadon’s deaths. You can decide for yourself if her death investigation was documented properly.

Private investigator and podcaster Lori Morrison of The Unlovely Truth joins me to review last week’s discussion with the hosts of Three Men and a Mystery, John Lordan, Mike Morford, and Gray Hughes, and my crowdsource forensic team lead Danielle Burch. Sheila’s network of PI s that she works with is amazing, but she could never make as much progress on her cases without her crowdsource volunteers. Red Flags
Red Flags – circumstances or facts that need me to take a closer look. Look at any investigating that has already been done to see if there are any gaps that need to be filled. Along with that, get a good understanding of everyone involved in the investigation to see what their level of training and expertise is.
Red is often used as a warning color because it’s a color that grabs your attention. In an investigation, red flags jump out and grab your attention because they don’t seem to fit the given narrative of the case. The deaths of Kadie Major, her infant daughter River, and her unborn son Aadon have a lot of red flags. I’ve asked investigators Mark Gillespie, Mike Kenney, and Jay and Lauren Marin to talk about these with me.

The Dinner That Would Never Come
Kadie Major grew up a bubbly, cheerful girl in a small town just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. She always dreamed of owning a farmhouse where she could raise horses and grow her family. In high school, she fell in love with a quiet, reserved classmate named Aaron Major. They eventually married and settled into a house just minutes away from Kadie’s parents.
By January 2008, Kadie Major seemed to have the perfect life. She and Aaron had a beautiful 10-month old baby girl named River Lynn, with a baby boy (to be named Aidan Robert) on the way. Everything was on the right track.
Yet things aren’t always as they seem. Aaron appeared to struggle with depression during his college days, and the couple was prone to argument and bickering. Even Aaron’s mother, Ronda, had a series of unnerving interactions with Kadie.
On the evening of January 16, 2008, Kadie asked her mother, Vicky, to join her for dinner. Vicky asked to postpone for another night. That dinner would never come.

What About Whitley, Part 2
What about Whitley? In this episode I talk about Whitley: what she was like as a small child, her behavior to others, her hate-slash-kill list in middle school, her education, her relationships, Christian, and, finally, Key West.
I break it down in detail. Weirdly, her involvement in Christian's case isn't complicated. Her life is very simple. — It's all about Whitley, period. Christian was a vehicle to get what she wanted at the time she wanted it. The problem with Christian was his usefulness had expired. He gave her the ultimate sacrifice, his life, but even that wasn't good enough.

Discussing Dylan
Dylan Swearingen claimed to be one of Christian Andreacchio’s best friends. They had not been close in high school, but a bad breakup for Dylan coincided with Christian’s final split with Avery, and the two began to hang out more. It wasn’t long before Dylan’s drug use escalated, and Christian warned Whitley that he considered Dylan a bad influence. That didn’t stop her from letting Dylan come over when Christian was gone working on the boat. Christian and Dylan’s relationship became so strained that witnesses have them fighting at a party in December. After that, contact between the two practically stopped. So why would Dylan be the one Christian called for a ride back to Meridian?
Listen to private investigator Sheila Wysocki highlight key differences in Dylan and Whitley’s statements. Consider Dylan’s words when compared to forensics, video evidence, and witness statements. Decide for yourself if Dylan’s stories about the debit card, the broken cell phone, or the trip to Best Buy ring true. You’ll also hear from investigators Mike Kenny and Lori Morrison on their thoughts about Dylan.

What did Mark Gillespie actually say?
In the last two episodes you heard Kassie Coleman, Benny Dubose, J Arrington, Gypsi Ward, Tony Green, and Richie McAllister all discussing the Christian Andreacchio case. The focus was on the case file — who had it and what was in it. Of course, they managed to get in a few underhanded remarks about the Andreacchios, the family asking questions about the botched investigation of Christian's death.
There are two things everyone in that room agreed on: First, it was a botched investigation and second, the body was moved. Even with that knowledge about the investigation and the case, no one in that room feels the need to help this family by find out the truth.
It appears the truth is whatever these six individuals decide.
During the leaked meeting, J. Arrington described Mark Gillespie as "a private investigator who said he had new evidence." I feel it is important for you, the listeners, to hear what Mark actually said to Arrington.
In this episode, you'll hear the recorded phone call between J. Arrington and Mark Gillespie, which took place prior to the July 1st meeting. Hear for yourself what was said and what wasn’t.
I give my analysis of the call but the analysis that really matters is yours What do you think?

Benny Dubose – Police Chief (MPD)
Jay Arrington – Captain of Investigations (MPD)
Gypsi Ward – Investigator (AG)
Tony Green – Director of Investigations PID (AG)
Richie McAlister – Chief Administrative Officer
Christian Andreacchio’s case was the subject of the meeting, the power players in Meridian and Mississippi all in one place discussing Christian. The meeting speaks for itself, Jay Arrington spent the meeting covering his actions and agitated that the Andreacchios have sought outside help. Kassie Coleman concentrated on what information was at the police station, in the evidence locker, what communications they available had with the Andreacchios. Of course, Kassie Coleman keeps saying that there isn’t new evidence, a ridiculous statement. Why Richie McAlister is involved in the meeting, is perplexing. Tony Green the director of the public integrity being part of the conversation is invaluable, his belief in his role, the role of the AG office and the Andreacchios speaks volums. Gypsi Ward was the investigator on the case, she also presented the case to the grand jury. This group of collaborators appears to be covering their actions, slamming the Andreacchios and their efforts.
Listen to the conversation, decide for yourself, would you want this group of collaborators in charge of your son’s case?

Leaked Audio from a Meridian Meeting
A meeting on was held on July 1 at the Meridian Police Dept. The following people attended:
Kassie Coleman – District Attorney
Benny Dubose – Police Chief (MPD)
Jay Arrington – Captain of Investigations (MPD)
Gypsi Ward – Investigator (AG)
Tony Green – Director of Investigations PID (AG)
Richie McAlister – Chief Administrative Officer
Were they there to help the Andreacchio family? Were they there to figure out how the investigation got botched or were they there to cover their mistakes and get on the same page to cover up yet another case gone bad?
This is the same man who was caught on tape saying he was going to have to piss on a kid’s memory.
Tony Green the director of the public integrity being part of the conversation is invaluable, his belief in his role, the role of the AG office and the Andreacchios speaks volumes. He said they don’t dance to the Andreacchios, isn’t he suppose to protect the public from people like himself?
Gypsi Ward was the investigator on the case, she also presented the case to the grand jury. An investigator that presented to the grand jury with evidence that had nothing to do with Christian’s case. Was she trying to skew the results so they wouldn’t proceed?
This group of collaborators appears to be covering their actions, slamming the Andreacchios and their efforts instead of helping a family in need.

A Powerful Agenda
Do you trust that your government officials will use their power to help you when you need them?
Rae Andreacchio did. But when her son Christian was tragically murdered, officials — from the police to the District Attorney to the Attorney General — abandoned their sworn duties in an effort to quickly close his case.
Now a lot of people are wondering why.
Join Sheila as she, Rae, and Josh discuss the shameful way that Christian's case file — including autopsy photos — was made public. You will be shocked when you hear who requested a copy of the file, when they requested it, and what they did with it once they had it.
It's time to let the people of Meridian know what happens when people with too much power have an agenda, and it isn't to see justice done.

Science Doesn't Lie
Forensic expert and consultant Mike Martinez weighs in on the Christian Andreacchio case, sharing his opinion on the suicide vs. homicide debate.
Mike holds both a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science & Mathematics and a Master of Science in Forensic Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also trained Emergency Medical Technician.
Mike Martinez is a nationally and internationally respected consultant with over decades of experience in the forensic sciences and provided training, consultation services for criminal and civil cases throughout the United States. In this episode, Mike speaks with Sheila about what is and is not important when evaluating a crime scene and explains why blood spatter location is important in assessing the overall scene.
These will count toward the Five Forensic Factors at the crime scene that don't add up to suicide. These factors are:
the position of the body
the trajectory of the wound
the location of the spent cartridge
the location of the bullet
the position of the gun
These factors are in addition to the inconsistencies in witness statements.
Listen to this episode to hear Mike’s conclusions after weighing all the forensic information.

Roundtable with Rae and Josh Andreacchio
Sheila, Rae Andreachio, Josh Andreacchio, and private investigator Lori Morrison sit down to discuss the corruption they see in the Meridian Police Department's handling of Christian's case.
Rae reveals new information about DNA evidence from the scene — revealed only through leaked audio. Josh talks about the bullet found in the bathtub and why he believes it was intentionally placed there by someone.
Even more revealing: Listeners are reaching out with their own stories about how MPD's poor investigation procedures have left them baffled and frustrated over the suspicious death of their own loved one.
Rae and Josh go into detail about the MPD's lack of time and attention to this case compared to others, and everyone gives their thoughts on why some cases seem to get a thorough investigation while others don't.
The group talks about a medical examiner's ability to determine whether an individual is depressed just by looking at autopsy photos and whether it's an ME's job to even address such an issue. As an experienced investigator, Sheila has seen time and time again how the narrative provided by the police has colored a medical examiner's report.
In Christian's case, Dylan called it a suicide, the 9-1-1 operator transferred that narrative to the police, and they accepted it instead of considering him a suspect until he could be definitively cleared.

Crime Scene
Christian Andreaccio's last place on earth became a crime scene. Crime scenes contain physical evidence that can tell us what really happened to a victim, and in this episode, we review that crime scene with Alina Burroughs and Mark Gillespie. We discuss what was and was not done, and what should have been done.
First responders were delayed after Dylan Swearingen gave the 911 operator the wrong address. When they did finally arrive, a narrative was already established: it was a suicide. Why was that narrative established? Because that's what Dylan told the 911 operator.
Penny, a listener, joins in with details from the police file. Another listener provides us with audio from Whitley’s spokesperson, talking about Christian’s case.
All in this episode of Without Warning with Sheila Wysocki.

9-1-1...What is your emergency?

Sheila discusses the 911 call with experts, investigators, and Christian’s family. Does the scene fit the 911 call? Is the caller telling the truth? Did Dylan delay first responders to Christian’s apartment? This is a practical look at Christian’s 911 call, taking the listener through his words, analyzing them, and reviewing the scene through knowledge and experience.
