Dealing With Grief, Scars and Survivors Guilt with Manchester Arena Attack Survivor Freya Lewis
Freya Lewis is a 21 year old student at drama school living in London. When she was 14 she was seriously injured in the Manchester Arena attack at the Ariana Grande concert and her best friend Nell sadly passed away. Suffering 29 separate injuries, she spent 6 weeks in hospital, had almost 20 surgeries and spent 3 months in a wheelchair. In 2020, Freya released a book called ‘What Makes Us Stronger’ that describes her journey throughout May 2017, and how her life and outlook changed overnight. She’s raised £70,000 for the hospital that saved her life and is determined to live life to the fullest and honour the legacy of her best friend.

I Choose Freedom with Charlotte Kneer

Charlotte Kneer MBE DL is the CEO of I Choose Freedom. Charlotte is a survivor of domestic abuse. Her ex-husband was imprisoned in 2011 for violent offences he perpetrated against her and other women. In 2021 Charlotte received the honour of being appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey in recognition of her work in the county. And then, in 2022, Charlotte was awarded an MBE in the Jubilee Honours list for her work with survivors of domestic abuse. Charlotte's priority and mission are to ensure that all survivors fleeing abuse can access a refuge space and to secure the national network of refuges. In this episode, Charlotte bravely opens up about her own experiences with domestic abuse and talks about I Choose Freedom and all the work they do to provide women with the safety they need. Alice and Charlotte delve into the reasons why refuges are so secret and the importance of the different services available to those who may be struggling. Charlotte also shares some heart-warming news of her own which brings a tear to all of our eyes.

Falling In Love With Weight Training & Your Body with Chloe Madeley

Overcoming Grief & Understanding Mental Illness with Ben West
Ben West is one of the most engaged mental health campaigners in the UK, committed to making real change around mental health in our society. In 2018, at just 17 years old, Ben's world collapsed around him when he tragically and unexpectedly lost his brother to suicide. The loss of Sam, aged only 15 when he died, propelled Ben to take positive action from this tragedy and concentrate his pain into a drive to campaigning around mental health awareness, suicide prevention and fundamentally changing how we approach mental health, especially in schools and the education system.
