Tolani is The Watcher and other lies we like to tell

By now you all know we have a penchant for going all around the houses before we get to our actual topic of discussion and this week is no different. If you did the homework you’ll know that the title of the day is The Watcher, the mysterious thriller about a family who receive ominous letters after moving into their new home. Stealing Your BFF’s Man and Making Magic With The Cast of Fate: The Winx Saga

It wouldn’t be an episode of 10/10 without Tolani and Gena debating some of life’s toughest questions. This week we ask: what would you do if your best friend stole your husband? The main event though is a lovely conversation with Eliot Salt and Hannah Van Der Westhuysen who play Terra and Stella in Fate: The Winx Saga. Its second season recently launched on Netflix so we caught up with them about all things Fate, including what it’s like to perform their fairy magic pre-VFX, their experience filming some of our favourite scenes and how they avoid (or don’t avoid) comments about them on the internet. The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch and other clothing stores that traumatised us

Welcome back! Sex Education 3, Stranger Things 4, The Witcher 2 and Phil Wang

As this season of 10/10 Would Recommend draws to a close, we thought it would be churlish not to at least give a cursory nod to some of the smaller, unknown shows coming to Netflix in the last half of 2021. You know, give these shows as much of a chance of finding an audience as possible. So bear with us while we force ourselves to take a look at *checks notes* Stranger Things 4, Sex Ed 3, Money Heist 5, The Witcher 2 and a whole host of commercially risky ventures. Joining Tolly and Gena this week is the brilliant Phil Wang, who's own special "Philly Philly Wang Wang" arrives on Netflix on 10th August 2021. Think 'Love is Blind' meets 'The Masked Singer' and you're still only about halfway there. Fear Street is here for your souls... and RL Stine is here to say hi!

Originality is a rare beast nowadays, which is why we're super proud of the Fear Street trilogy, or should we say thrill-ogy! Three incredible full-length feature horror films released weekly? Crazy right? Not only that but it has interweaved characters, plot-lines and oh... starts in 1994 and ends in 1666 and is written by a master of his craft - Goosebumps creator RL Stine. He dropped by to speak to the ladies , who are so pathetic when it comes to horror, we got Alison Peirse, and actual academic expert in horror films to come and calm them down. Then, to see how much they've been paying attention, Producer Jamie put them through their paces with a special quiz. Horror? Some of Tolly's answers will give you the heebeegeebies! Too Hot to Handle? Melinda and Marvin certainly are...

You didn't think we could cram S2 of 'Too Hot to Handle' into one episode did you? Hell no - and seeing as Tolly and Gena spent so much of last week DROOLING over poor Marvin, it only seemed fitting that we throw him to the 10/10 lions with only his love(?) Melinda for protection. You want the tea spilt on THTH? Of course you do. You want unfiltered opinion on the reality conveyor belt? Why wouldn't you? Here are four people getting well and truly STUCK IN. Sometimes you  just have to call the experts in, right? There are millions of things Tolly and Gena are experts in, but being a reality TV star is not one of them (yet). Sweet Tooth is the tonic we need - Star Adeel Akhtar explains why...

Sweet Tooth is one of the most charming series you'll watch this year. Telling the story of Gus, a hybrid boy/deer (bear with, yeah?) and his search for his mother in the midst of a catastrophic pandemic. Exec produced by Sue Downey and her completely-unknown-unlikely-to-ever-amount-to-anything husband Robert Downey Jr,  it has captured the hearts of millions - hitting the number one slot worldwide. Adeel Akhtar stars as Dr. Aditya Singh, but you will almost certainly already know him from one of the many shows lucky enough to have him, such as Killing Eve, Utopia, The Big Sick, Four Lions, The Night Manager and Back to Life. He is ubiquitous, brilliant and one of the nicest people we've ever had on the show. Adeel is speaking from a hotel room in London - whilst Tolly and Gena managed to find a room together the other side of town (albeit one with a turbine-sized air-con blowing right next to them). The newly founded trio of BFFs also recommended these titles, available to watch now: Master of None Sisters on Track Private Life Each week join hosts and IRL friends Tolani Shoneye (of The Receipts podcast fame) and Gena-mour Barrett (who works for Netflix) as they discuss what they're watching, and what they think * you * should be watching.  Please say hello on socials using #1010 Produced by Daft Doris and Netflix UK Show Less

Description If you aren't on board the 'Master of None' train, then get a damned travelcard ASAP. S3 is a powerhouse - a masterclass in direction, screenplay and performance.  One of the people largely responsible for this is Naomi Ackie - who plays  Alicia, Denise's wife. Their journey through the complicated and difficult IVF maze is both heartbreaking and spellbinding. She joins Tolly and Gena to talk all about it - and oh my goodness what a pleasure it was.  As well as ‘Master of None’ the girls also recommended these titles, available to watch now: In our Mothers' Gardens Sweet Tooth Too Hot to Handle We will see you in 2021 - have a lovely festive period and thank you for all your support. The shocking story behind Nailbomber: Manhunt

Nailbomber: Manhunt is an incredibly moving , shocking and powerful documentary about the 13 days that sent London into panic. Bombs in Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho devastated minority communites  - before they found strength, fought back and  helped police capture David Copeland, the man responsible for the atrocities. Using first-person accounts, police interview footage and incredible archive,  it serves as an important bookmark in British history - one that, as Tolly and Gens discuss, has been overlooked. Joining them in this episode are Daniel Vernon, the director of Nailbomber: Manhunt and Mike Franklin - one of the people intrinsic to the capture of the bomber. Alexandre Aja on Oxygen and the new wave of incredible foreign language films

There was a time when anything with subtitles was considered far too intellectual and posh for mainstream consumption - but thanks in part to the meteoric rise in the fantastic Scandi-Noir genre, we now think nothing of settling down and applying a bit more concentration. This is rewarded with some incredible viewing. Imagine a world without 'The Platform', 'Money Heist', 'Lupin' and now... 'Oxygen'. Alexandre Aja is known for bringing us some of the most watchable horror of the past few decades, but thanks to lockdown, has had the opportunity to deliver this socially-distant claustrophobic Sci-Fi thriller starring Melanie Laurent. What to Watch on Netflix: Criminal S2 special!

Criminal is one of the most gripping crime dramas ever made. It's unique format really nails the intensity of the situation and, as we already know the police have got their criminal, we're thrown deep into the detail of how the cops get them behind bars. Aside from the intensity of the script, it's perfomances are simply stunning. Whether it's the conveyor belt of stars such as Kit Harrington and Sharon Horgan playing the criminals, the duty solicitors trying to protect them - or the familiar faces of the police - everyone on set brings their absolute A game. Katherine Kelly plays DI Natalie Hobbs, and here she discusses what a fantastic experience both watching AND making the show is. Criminal is available on Netflix now.

What to Watch on Netflix: Dark Season 3 Special

Dark, a German language series about to embark on its third and final season, takes everything you think you know about the rules of the time-travel genre, tears them into shreds and shoves them right up your flux capacitor. It is a riveting thriller which, like all great shows, begins as something relatively linear (a missing child case) and expands into an examination of something incredibly profound. ‘The Wire’ became an ode to fate, ‘The Sopranos’ chose life and death - and ‘Dark’ ponders what the fundamentals of time means to humanity - suggesting this part of life is our real God. It's creators Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese talk about these principals, the cast, the insane planning behind such a complex show and the big question... Dubbing or Subtitles!
