Off the Cupp with S.E. Cupp
S.E. Cupp needs a break -- from the news, from politics, from the triggering headlines and heated discussions … from the mental load of it all. Off the Cupp is just that. It’s a place to get loose and personal, to talk about what’s going on in our lives - beyond (and, yes, maybe because of) the news. Through a lens of mental health, S.E. invites her famous guests — celebrities, athletes, authors, journalists, politicians, reality stars — to share their life stories, their trials and tribulations and to talk about what it’s like living in this world, even when this world can feel like a lot.
Episodes
Huey Lewis and … S.E.’s mom?
This week, it's Huey Lewis! S.E. grew up listening to Huey Lewis and the News and now she gets the chance to ask him all the things — from Huey's early days busking with his harmonica in Morocco to the surprising impact 80s punk had on him starting his own band. Huey also shares some fun stories about his segue into the movies — with songs in Back to the Future and American Psycho — and then acting. SE also asks how his diagnosis with Meniere's Disease - a chronic inner ear disorder - has affected his life, his relationship with music, and his mental health. And in the lightning round, SE finds out that she and Huey share a funny and familiar connection.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Kelly Rizzo on love, loss, and maybe moving to Italy
This Thanksgiving week, S.E. brings on blogger, travel host and the Comfort Food podcast host, Kelly Rizzo. Kelly started the Comfort Food podcast in 2022 after her husband, comedian Bob Saget, died suddenly. That terrible moment and year threw the newlywed into an identity crisis. But through grief, she leaned on the things she loves — food, travel, and music — to find her sense of self again. S.E. and Kelly talk about how she and Bob met (the real story) and their hilarious honeymoon. Kelly also brings S.E. back to the day she got the call that Bob was found dead in a hotel room in Florida while on tour. S.E. and Kelly talk about dealing with anxiety when tragedy strikes, the grief journey, and how she managed to re-enter the dating pool with another 90s acting icon (and what Bob would think of it all). Kelly's podcast Comfort Food is on hiatus, but she just launched a new membership support group called Comfort Club. Check it out!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
