Jim and A.Ron have mixed reviews for AMC's Better Call Saul's season four finale, "Winner". We're a house divided as to whether "Winner" did enough to justify this season's at times uneven pacing and anti-climactic storytelling. Still, neither of us think the season was bad by any stretch, and this episode has tons of great scenes; the end of Mike and Werner's working relationship, Kim coming to the realization that she's just another in a long line of Jimmy's suckers, Jimmy breaking down in his Esteem at the fundamental injustice he feels he faces in society. Whether it all adds up to a compelling whole is a question everyone has to answer for themselves. Regardless, we'll be back next week to wrap things up and entertain counter arguments and theories for what territory Saul will be treading next. See you then!

Jim and A.Ron are excited to see a return of tension and intrigue with the latest episode of AMC's Better Call Saul. The traditional Jimmy scam gets a Kim-style twist that was very well executed. Don Hector receiving his bell was perhaps unnecessary, but it was really fun to watch. The drama with Werner and the explosives and his ensuing escape attempt fueled the episode with much needed suspense. Finally, Jimmy and Kim's roof-top blow-up was as volcanic as it was tragic, uncomfortable, and real. It will be interesting to see what places they take Jimmy's and Kim's legal careers as well as the warming war between the Fring organization and the Salamancas with Nacho caught in the middle in what is sure to be a barn burning season finale. We found ourselves in the minority of fans after watching AMC's Better Call Saul's latest episode, "Coushatta". While not a bad episode per se, Jim and I were both let down by the actual scheme to befuddle the DA for Huell's case, and taken off guard by the sudden shift in what we perceived as Kim's character. On the other hand, caching up with Nacho was a rewarding experience, and we're truly excited by the possibilities Lalo entering the picture presents. We discuss all this and more plus tons of great listener feedback with smart dissents in the landmark case of Bald Move vs. Kim Wexler.

Despite a warp speed, nearly ten month jump ahead in time, AMC's Better Call Saul proceeds in a deliberate pace, offering just over 40 minutes of content, with just under 9 minutes of montage filling the screen time. One ball that's left to bounce for the entire period is Nacho, the only major principle character we don't get caught up on. Gus has healed Hector to the exact level he needs to maximize his revenge plot. Mike is struggling with an over budget superlab with a crew of bored and increasingly sloppy Germans, and Kim and Jimmy's relationship is on life support. And that's before Jimmy comes to Kim with a big ask to save our favorite not-so-big-man, Huell. If the pace has been slow, the tension has been fairly high, the next three weeks will hopefully have enough fireworks to carry us to season five!

Season three of AMC's Better Call Saul is in the books with the finale episode, "Lantern". The show is really on fire this season. As confirmed #F&%@Chuck supporters, we're delighted to see Chuck get roasted, which left a warm and toasty feeling in our hearts. Some plot points and character details might seemed burnt out, but we think the Villigang is just blowing smoke our direction to distract us. We are all hot for what seems like an inevitable Nacho / Gus team up, maybe they can hash out the details at an ABQ BBQ to benefit local fire fighters? And while Kim and Jimmy's chemistry isn't as smoldering as we would like, Patrick Fabians performance is searing as Howard burns his bridges with Chuck who goes down in flames. If they keep turning up the heat, who knows how scorching this show can get?!

Jim and A.Ron are now on the #F&%$EveryBodyButKim bandwagon, now that Jimmy has really fallen so morally and ethically far in AMC's Better Call Saul, appropriately titled "Fall". It's shocking, disgusting, and horrific, and it's hard to see how anyone we remotely care about makes it out of this season unscathed. Poor Kim. Poor Irene. We'll have to see what devastation the Villigang has in store for us next week for the season finale...

Jim and A.Ron discuss the latest episode of AMC's Better Call Saul, "Slip". We note, rather ominously, the next episode title is "Fall". Gulp. We discuss better strategies for pill swapping, the probably bowel patterns of an elderly man who's diet consists entirely of Mexican food and espresso, and give a full-throated cheer for Kim serving some cold justice to one Howard Hamlin.

"Expenses", the latest installment of AMC's Better Call Saul, is a workman-like connective episode that really develops the themes of this season while delivering superior performances. We discuss Mike's motivations to help the Cobbler / Nacho, Jimmy getting way too in to his mock scam of some dick who's particular about his martinis, Kim's difficulty in dealing with her help in tearing down a sick man, before delving into the depths of our Scotch ignorance in the mailbag.

Jim and A.Ron found a lot to like in the latest Better Call Saul, "Off Brand". The sense of something new, new characters, new directions, old scotch paired with new beginnings. Just a whiff of that "new car smell" coming off the show this week. Plus, we can't overstate how much fun it is to see Jimmy/Saul in his new role as crappy local TV commercial director guy.

Jim and A.Ron are highly impressed at the high stakes quasi-legal and totally legit familial drama on hand with the latest episode of AMC's Better Call Saul, "Chicanery". A masterclass in acting and dialog, Jimmy has to go three levels deep in scamming to fool Chuck, but he manages to do so, with devastating results. But how does Jimmy skate given his crimes? Will this end the blood feud between the brothers? Will Chuck go darker? Will Kim get caught in the cross fire? We discuss all this, plus feedback, and a rather excited spoiler section geeking out over next week's episode.

The latest outing for AMC's Better Call Saul, "Sabrosito", offers more intriguing information on our favorite Chicken Brother, Gus Fring, as we go back in time to explore the Eladio Cartel's internal politics, and the petty jealousies and rivalries that will eventually add up to Fring's pyrrhic victory over his associates to the South. But we also have some family drama as Jimmy and Chuck continue to wage their cold, legal war against each other. Will the law offices of Wexler and McGill triumph over HHM? My money's on Victor and Giselle. Also, Mike turns down ice cream, the absolute mad man.

"Sunk Costs" is able to perfectly balance the tension in the dueling Mike/Jimmy story lines being juggled on AMC's Better Call Saul, with clear stakes for both our protagonists as they form powerful alliances and prepare to do battle with worthy foes. Mike's machinations against Hector offer the most visceral thrills, but Jimmy's legal battle against his brother promises the most twists and turns. Will Jimmy's legal license survive? Will his relationship with Kim weather this latest storm?

In the latest episode of AMC's Better Call Saul, the tables are turned as Jimmy becomes Mike's private investigator as he continues to try to unravel the mysterious "DON'T" message writer. Tables are later flipped as Chuck employs his own private investigators in an elaborate scheme to unravel Jimmy. Basically, this episode is all unraveling and private eyes.

With A.Ron on vacation, I'm joined by Eric from Personal Arrogants and Direct to cover the season 3 premiere of the most effortlessly gripping show on television. We speculate about the various plans put in motion this episode and where it's all going, the final fate of Jimmy / Saul / Gene and devise a new spin-off for the Breaking Bad universe.

We're trying to walk a fine line here. On the one hand, we are impressed as we can be with the quality, pacing, and storytelling on display throughout season two of AMC's "Better Call Saul". Heck, we even really like the finale, episode 210, "Klick". But we also have a few problems with how they're going about doing what they do, and worry that the mounting coincidences, reliance on karmic timing and a fairly limp reveal for the finale will eventually undermine the enterprise. And we have a giant mailbag full of opinions from you and your fellow fans.

Episode 209 of AMC's "Better Call Saul", entitled "Nailed", is superlative, and takes us on quite the intense and unexpected emotional rollercoaster. We can't wait to see what goes down in the finale next week! But first things first, we talk about Mike's snatching a total moral defeat from the jaws of victory, Chuck's crazy pants theory that just happens to be true, Kim's very nuanced and perhaps conditional acceptance of Jimmy's wily ways, and much more, including tons of great feedback from our fellow fans.

A.Ron and Jim are digging Better Call Saul's latest episode, "Fifi", which finds the perfect Mike/Jimmy balance and pacing. Your mileage may vary, of course, but lots of intriguing and interesting things are afoot. Jimmy is smuggling "war heroes" on Air Force bases, Chuck is sabotaging Kim and Jimmy's dreams of teaming up, and Mike is dabbling in rather unconventional gardening accessories. We discuss this and more with help from our fellow fans!

Episode 207 of AMC's Better Call Saul, "Inflatable", was the best of Jimmy, and the worst of Jimmy. While his colorful sabotage of the corporate, buttoned down Davis and Main firm was entertaining, and the sabotage/montage a masterful edit by Insider Podcaster Kelley Dixon, it was at the expense of some genuinely good people. And while it's wonderful that Mike can provide a comfortable and safe lifestyle for his daughter and law and granddaughter, we know it eventually sets up a situation which forces the doting Mike to abandon them both. Lots of mixed and poignant feelings in this one. Plus, we get lots of feedback as people put on their theory hats and give us their best shots.

It's episode 206 of Better Call Saul, "Bali Ha'i", and the cameos keep coming. When will Jim's hands start shaking worse than Mike after bouncing two wannabee tough guys out of his hacienda? We discuss the various deals, scams, and schemes that make up the bulk of this episode, undertake the complex task of figuring out what the chameleon Howard is all about, wonder what's next for Mike, and worry about the future of Kim's career. Jim and A.Ron were pleasantly surprised by a complete departure of tone and character in episode 106 of Better Call Saul, "Five-O". We discuss bleach by-passes, struggle to understand tank top undershirts, as we navigate formative moments of the Man Trout's life in three month increments. Another great episode of Better Call Saul, number 105, "Jello", er, I mean "Alpine Shepherd Boy"!  We discuss filthy toilets, life questioning pedicures, the ethics of committing crazy loved ones, the joys of just watching Jonathan Banks, and much more.  All this, including tons of feedback (this week is at least 33% lawyers), ready to bust down your door and tase you into submission.

Jim and A.Ron loved this episode, number 104 of Better Cast Saul, "Hero", which we see as a huge step forward in tone, pacing, and world building. We got a kick out of seeing the origins of "S'all good, man", giant trashy bill boards, the bridging of the gap between Slippin' Jimmy and Saul, the deepening of his relationship to Kim, further Nacho entanglements, and lots and lots of butthole to go around. All this, and a ton of your insight, expertise and fan theories, coming right at you!

Relax, everyone on the internet! Jim finally is pleased with an episode of Better Call Saul... In the series third outing, we get a hint of the plot that's going to be moving perhaps a good chuck of the rest of the season, as Jimmy McGill and a huge bag of ill gotten funds finally meet. How we got to that point is interesting too, as we bear witness to the demise of Slipping Jimmy, get hints about the nature of Jimmy and Kim's relationship, and see the genesis of a more congenial relationship between Mike and the man who will one day be called Saul. And sex robots! All this, a ton of feedback, and the barest whiff of a spoiler section that morphs into an impromptu Bald Move TV segment. Just, a lot of stuff happens on this podcast. Enjoy!
