The Teleportation of Gil Perez

A legend goes, that in 1593 a Spanish Soldier named Gil Perez supposedly teleported from Manila, Philippines to Mexico City, Mexico in the blink of an eye. It's a legend that has survived over 400 years, in two different cities, on opposite sides of the world. Do you think it has any truth to it?
