#003 Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!)
In 2012, Against Me! singer Laura Jane Grace came out publicly in Rolling Stone magazine as transgender. To say the last five years have been chaotic would be an understatement. But, as her recent autobiography ‘Tranny’ reveals, Laura’s entire life has been one long rollercoaster. Here, she discusses the intimate details of that ride, from the turbulent teen years to the trials and tribulations of playing in an anarchist punk band and Against Me!’s ultimate rise to fame. She also opens up about her struggles with depression and gender dysphoria. Spoiler alert: this story has a happy ending.
