How many times have you heard people say ‘I don’t like change’? It’s no surprise if the change is not fun. No matter what type or the size of the change, some people will always go first and others will follow. Some will go all out whereas other will go half heartedly. So change is different for everyone. Leadership is about knowing your people and you should apply that to change; knowing how much change means to one of your team members. The four step model for change: Shock – Emotion - Learning – Forward Moving Challenge peoples thinking but do it in a fun creative way. A good way to do this can be by relating the change in work to a change outside of work. If you can create a simulation of change then that’s also a good way to make change fun. Introduce brain breaks which can help increase the level of engagement and energy again. Keep moving forward like water does.
