Colts Cast: Colts will get all they can handle with the Steelers in Week 9; Alex Kozora breaks down Steelers' strengths
The Indianapolis Colts got all they could handle with the Denver Broncos' defense last week in a tight 15-13 win at Lucas Oil Stadium. This week, they travel to Pittsburgh to battle the Steelers, and their defense is even better, and the Colts will be without their best offensive playmaker to boot.
The Steelers may come into Week 9 at 3-4, but they've lost three of those four games by a total of 9 points, and have won their three games by an average of more than 14 points. Being that the Colts have had all seven of their games remain within one score, it's unlikely that they will have some revelation of offensive explosiveness against a top-10 defense, and light on explosion themselves.
The Colts' defense, however, may be in position to make the largest impact as they've greatly improved recently, and Mason Rudolph is certainly no Ben Roethlisberger, and their backfield is short of playmakers now as well. The Colts still have work to do as the Steelers have a good offensive line protecting Rudolph thus far.
Who will step in and assume the workload voided by T.Y. Hilton's absence? What other options do the Steelers have outside of Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster? What does the Colts' defense have to feast on in order to keep the Colts offense in position to control the game? Can Braden Smith handle T.J. Watt on the edge?
We discuss all of this and more on today's show. Plus, Alex Kozora, from Steelers Depot, stops by to give us the insight on the Steelers we need to prepare for what we'll see on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
