Best Screenplay and Original Score Predictions - For Your Consideration
On this week’s For Your Consideration, Collider’s awards experts Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff and Jeff Sneider examine the Screenplay categories, as well as the likely nominees for Best Original Score. Noah Baumbach and Lulu Wang may miss out on Best Director nominations, but will the Academy reward them with screenplay nods for Marriage Story and The Farewell? Will Joker crack the Adapted Screenplay lineup, or will it prove too crowded this year, with Netflix poised to secure two slots thanks to The Irishman and The Two Popes. Elsewhere, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Parasite are expected to compete for Best Original Screenplay, while the Mister Rogers movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is aiming for an Adapted Screenplay nod. Just Mercy is also in the mix for that award, and this episode features a clip from our recent interview with stars Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx. The full interview should be up on later today, so don't miss it!And finally, the gang talks about the Best Original Score race, which could include both Thomas Newman and Randy Newman this year, though genre movies like Joker and Us are still making noise in this category, refusing to go quietly into the night. There are a ton of others in the mix, including Little Women and Pain and Glory, so make sure to leave a COMMENT below with your own thoughts on the race, and remember to LIKE and SHARE this video on social media.
