What it's really like working in a secure mental health hospital
Welcome to this week's episode of No Really, I'm Fine. In this podcast I travelled to London to meet John Waldron, a mental health nurse who works at St Andrew's Care. St Andrew's Care is a mental health charity, who provide specialist care for those who have severe mental illnesses.I spoke to John, who has worked at St Andrews for many years, about his new podcast On the Ward - which goes behind the scenes at St Andrew's. We also chatted about John's job and what it's like to work at a mental health hospital, in the hope of breaking down that stigma which unfortunately still surrounds mental health institutions today. This episode may be a trigger for those who have suicidal thoughts or for those who have been detained under the mental health act - however it also may help. Remember help is out there if you need to talk. You can call Samaritans for free at any time on 116 123. For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
