Sunita Harley on Social Interaction During Lockdown (Coronavirus Mini Series)

Sunita Harley on Social Interaction During Lockdown (Coronavirus Mini Series)

By Alison Perry

Hands up if you’re missing social interaction right now! (That will probably be all of us, I’m guessing). If you’re anything like me, you’ll be looking forward to being able to hang out with friends and family again – and even craving little things like being able to make small talk with the server at your local coffee shop!

On this episode, my guest is Sunita Harley, who has a lot to say about social interaction and how it’s more important than ever right now. Sunita runs Lucky Things which sees her organising meet-ups and workshops for women. It all started in the most organic way, when five years ago she suggested to five friends she’d met on Instagram that they meet up in real life. What grew from there is a string of hugely popular and well-loved events for women, with networking, sharing and learning at its heart.

Sunita talks to me about taking Lucky Things online during lockdown and why we’re all having what she calls “social connection flashbacks”. We also talk about “Zoom overload” and why it’s important to carve out non Zoom time when you just chat to people on the phone.

Check out Lucky Things here and follow Sunita on Instagram.
