Ellen Smith is the lead singer and songwriter of the Leeds-based trio Shadowlark and a life-long Leeds fan. She recently contributed two tracks to the Amazon Prime documentary series 'Take Us Home' about Leeds United's 2018/2019 campaign including a spine-tingling cover of Marching On Together which soundtracks the climax of the series' final episode. In this second edition of our Leeds That interview series, James and Andy go to meet Ellen to find out how she went about re-writing THE Leeds United anthem, about life as a musician in Leeds and what it's like to play Glastonbury. Ellen also plays two live tracks, exclusively for Leeds That, including Shadowlark's latest single 'Bleed My Heart' and, of course, a performance of that haunting version of Marching On Together.
