Podcasting: Now and in 2018
Over the past couple of years, we have been in a content quantity and quality growth era, with the technology side really struggling to innovate in the face of relatively slow ad revenue growth and business models that would not support increases in spending on technology advancements in the podcasting medium.
In 2018, we will see newer content genres develop into being major contributors to the community of podcast creators.
“Reality and fictional storytelling podcasts seem to be hitting the mainstream on the creation and listening sides with a larger growing share of young people in a demographically balanced cross-section”
Finally will start to see some technology innovations come to the podcasting market this coming year. Will see some real progress on advertiser/agency campaigns beyond just the very big podcasts, technology innovation around metrics and monetization tools.
