Colts Cast: Colts improve to 7-3 after huge Week 11 win over Packers
The Indianapolis Colts came into their Week 11 matchup with the Green Bay Packers ready to follow up a huge divisional win against the Tennessee Titans in Week 10.
The Colts were down two scores at the half, as the Packers scored on both Colts' turnovers, but the defense allowed only 3 second half points, and the Colts' offense put together four drives of 8 plays or more and were able to gain the lead, then finish off the Packers in OT.
This was truly a complete team win, from all three phases of the game.
The Colts' offense came to life especially in the second half, their defense was straight up lock-down in the final 30 minutes (plus OT) as well, AND the Colts' special teams was excellent all day as well.
Kenny Moore may just be the most important player on this Colts' defense, Michael Pittman had another big game, Philip Rivers was very good for the Colts virtually all game, the team is still getting impressive play from their defensive front-four, and Julian Blackmon is becoming a legit NFL safety as a rookie, right before our eyes.
With all of the positive comes a bit of the negative of course. The Colts' holding calls in a pivotal possession late in the game is something that simply cannot continue. Though Rock Ya-Sin came up with a huge interception in this one, his grabby style is a real liability and he's got to be better.
In the end, the Colts are still in control of the AFC South, and are set to host the Titans in Week 12 for their second meeting of the season. This one is every bit as important as the last two games for the Colts.
They gain firm control of the division with another win, and with three more divisional games, as well as matchups with the Las Vegas Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers still left on their schedule, the Colts have a shot at proving their legitimate contenders with a strong finish to the season.
