FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL is the story of a group of friends in England experiencing life after university. Their summers are filled with weddings, so much so they often don’t even remember which is which! It’s all fun and games for Charles (Hugh Grant) until he meets an American named Carrie (Andie McDowell) at (you guessed it!) a wedding. Meeting Carrie suddenly makes Charles wonder why he’s always going to weddings, but never getting married himself! Is it a fear of commitment? Is it just meeting the wrong girl, over and over again? 4W&AF takes us through love and loss, in a very early-90s England, and reminds viewers that only they can define what love and marriage look like to themselves, and that they should be entirely authentic about it.
