Simon Thomas on Moving Forward
Welcome to Breaking Mum and Dad: The Podcast!
This is the podcast that talks all about parental mental health, the highs and lows of parenting and everything in between.
This week on Breaking Mum and Dad, Anna's joined by presenter, author and podcaster Simon Thomas. Three and a half years ago Simon's life was interrupted suddenly when his wife Gemma, mother to his 8 year old son, Ethan, was diagnosed with leukaemia, and subsequently passed away just three days later.
In this episode Simon talks to Anna about what Gemma was like as a mum, the circumstances around her diagnosis and passing, having to continue parenting through immense stress and grief, his own mental health issues at that time, allowing himself to move on, and his life going forwards with his wonderful partner Derrina. He speaks openly about his relationship with Ethan and helping him through grief, and the relationship between his son and his partner.
