When you buy or use a product that’s connected to the internet, you don’t necessarily have full control. Companies that make these gadgets — phones, home security cameras, smart speakers — can access their products, and if they want, change how they work. Some Peloton users recently experienced this firsthand. Recode’s Sara Morrison (@saramorrison) explains.
