Why is everything so expensive right now?

Lots of consumer products and services have gotten more expensive over the last year, when the pandemic threw prices out of whack. Some have worried this could signal a coming period of stagnation, or even an economic collapse. But economists say these unstable costs are likely just the economy working itself out.
