The Kerry Babies
On April 14th, 1984, a newborn baby boy was found strangled and stabbed in Kerry County, Ireland. The baby became known as Baby John. The ensuing investigation would come to be regarded as one of the most controversial in Ireland's history. The police focused their attention on unwed mothers due to extremely low social views of unwed mothers.
Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss this interesting case out of Ireland. The police investigation quickly led to a woman who had recently been pregnant. Because this woman was not married she tried to give birth on her own and the baby died. But, the police didn't believe her and they felt that she was responsible for the death of Baby John.
