The Value of Human-Centred Data in Smart Communities, with Kylie Legge
Hi #smartcommunity friends! In this episode of the Smart Community Podcast I have a wonderful conversation with Kylie Legge. Kylie is the founder of Place Score which is an organisation offering human-centric data and you may remember Kylie from her previous episode all the way back in episode 15. Kylie tells us about her background in architecture originally and her current work in Place Making, her passion for human-centric cities and making places better for people, what a Smart Community is to her before we discuss the importance of inclusion and human-centric focus in Smart Communities. We then discuss some of the learnings from the Covid-19 pandemic, Kylie tells us about her company Place Score and the liveability census they are currently running before we discuss the value of data and how it can be used to better the community. We finish our chat discussing the emerging trends of the positive and potential challenges of technology, the need for more contextualised data and to be more strategic about the use of data. As always, we hope you enjoyed listening to this episode as much as we enjoyed making it!
