Episode 007 | "Acting up"

In this week's episode, the OOH team (including Ginep, the resident pug) finally regroup in Amsterdam after several weeks apart due to the holidays. In good spirits from the off, the guys start with the trademark segment WMYS - What Made You Smile (4:00) before touching on returning to work and overcoming January Blues (14:08). Known for their banter on light-hearted topics, the guys are just as adept to discussing serious issues, and the subject of diversity is thoroughly dissected here… The crew speak on the royal drama dubbed ‘Megxit’ (24:31) and elaborate on why the media’s narrative of Meghan Markle is different to that of Kate Middleton, a fellow Duchess. The Oscar nominations are in and the group discuss the backlash around the lack of representation amongst women and people of colour (43:08). Yaf then argues why certain award bodies are particularly revered, when they are so disconnected from the culture.
