Child Q, Black Children Overpoliced and Disproportionately Sanctioned
In this episode, we are joined by Dr. Anna and Dr. Aziza from Black Female Doctors UK, a non-profit organisation of medics, dentists, surgeons, scientists and PhD holders aimed at empowering and supporting each other and our community. We discuss Child Q and how Black students are over policed, usually less supported and disproportionately sanctioned by the educational system.
Black female Doctors has a goal to raise much needed awareness and funds to help support the educational and legal needs of ethnic minority children who have been unjustly treated by schools and the police. The intention is for the funds raised to be given to a charity called 'Just for Kids Law' who exist to help children and young people overcome all the difficulties they face, from problems at school and issues with immigration status to trouble with the police. They are also the charity representing Child Q, whose appalling treatment from her school and the police, being strip searched, has left us all heartbroken and devastated.
