15. The Business of Male Fertility with Khaled Kteiliy
Khaled Kteilly never intended to run a start-up that would allow men to freeze their sperm. But after an accident caused him to worry that he might not be able to have children, he discovered that the entire process of freezing and preserving sperm was antiquated and uncomfortable. That led him to start Legacy, a digital fertility clinic for people with sperm that is helping to change the outdated view that fertility is a “women’s issue”.
On this episode of FOMO Sapiens, Khaled tells the Legacy story and talks about what inspired him to launch a business that focuses on male reproductive health. He will also explain how he learned to talk about a very sensitive topic in a way that resonates with people. Finally, he’ll unpack how he found the confidence and the path to raise $45 million from VCs as well as from angel investors like The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Orlando Bloom.
