World Cancer Day: Remembering The Late Catherine Wines
To commemorate this year’s World Cancer Day, we’re looking back on one of our all-time favourite episodes, featuring the late Catherine Wines.
Catherine was the Co-Founder of WorldRemit, one of the fastest growing FinTechs in the UK, allowing people to send money to friends and family living abroad.
Catherine was one of the most high-profile female leaders in FinTech and it came as a real shock to the industry when she lost her battle to stage 3 pancreatic cancer in 2020.
We have benefited first-hand from Catherine’s ongoing mentorship and support, and couldn’t think of a better way to raise awareness of and commemorate World Cancer Day, by re-sharing some of our favourite moments from our conversation with her.
In today’s episode, you’ll hear:
➡️ How WorldRemit was born [01:44]
➡️ Her advice for anyone wanting to break into the industry [04:25]
➡️ How she dealt with her cancer diagnosis and how employers can support [06:08]
