59: How to Work Without Losing Your Mind with Cate Sevilla
In this week’s episode, I’m joined by Cate Sevilla, a journalist, consultant and author of the book How To Work Without Losing Your Mind. Cate has led and managed editorial teams for some of the world’s largest media and technology companies including Google and Microsoft. She was a founding member of BuzzFeed UK and later became editor-in-chief at The Pool.
Her book offers a hilarious and relatable guide to the messy, stressful and bizarre side of work that everyone experiences but no one talks about. More than ever, we are wondering how to work without losing our minds and Cate’s advice can help us do just that.
In this episode, we discuss how to identify the signs that you’re in a toxic work environment, how to create more psychological safety in your job and how to deal with a difficult manager. So if you’ve had a long, hard working week, been on the verge of tears and you’re exhausted from the endless video calls - this might be just what you need to hear.
