Refusing to Wing Fatherhood with Dennis LeMire
Dennis LeMire is the Manager of FloSports, and co-host of the Man 2 Man Podcast, a show seeking to influence and coach men to pursue Christ and to become the men God called them to be so they can truly live, making strong impacts in their marriages, friendships, workplaces, churches and communities, and to help men discover their true identity. Today, Dennis joined Larry to share his experiences of being a father to two sons and openly talks about his struggles as a father and his attempts to stay half a step ahead in order to be able to offer his wisdom and advice.
“Staying half a step ahead” is a phrase that is often used by fathers who are raising teenagers. This phrase speaks to the idea that a father should always be a few steps ahead of his teenage children in order to be able to offer them guidance and advice.
Dennis mentions that the best way for fathers to stay ahead of their teenage children is to stay engaged with them and be willing to listen to their thoughts and opinions. Dennis adds that fathers should also be willing to ask questions and be open to learning new things. This will help them to stay current with their children and be able to offer them the best advice possible.
Finally, Dennis said that as a father, you should be setting an example for your children and teaching them the values that they need to be successful in life. This includes teaching them how to be confident, how to be social, and how to love.
By doing this, you will be able to ensure that your children have the necessary skills and values that they need in order to succeed in life.
