Bridging the Disconnection Gap to the Incarcerated with Frederick Hutson

Today’s History Story: Their Black Love Endured Decades Of Slavery And Separation They endure a profound sense of disconnection and isolation within cold confines, feeling adrift even in the midst of others. But many fail to realize that this isolation, like the cruel echoes of history, is not by happenstance—it's a meticulously designed and devastating consequence of incarceration. Today’s guest, however, innovated a solution to mitigate that isolation and connect incarcerated people with their loved ones. That man is Frederick Hutson.   Frederick is a social impact entrepreneur, Air Force veteran, and formerly incarcerated person. During his four years in prison, he experienced first-hand the predatory nature of the 1.2 billion dollar inmate communication industry. He chose to turn what was negative into a means to help his community and created a product called Pigeonly that helps to ensure incarcerated individuals have access to others outside the inhumane walls of prison.
