EP44 - Neil Sheasby "Brother Sheas" - Stone Foundation - "Brother to Brother, One for another..."
Neil Sheasby (AKA Brother Sheas) from Stone Foundation joins me for Episode 44.
Sheas formed the British Modern Soul Group with Neil Jones back in 1997 (check out episode 26 for my chat with 'Jonesy').
Putting an English spin on a strong Stax influence, the seven piece outfit from the Midlands are leaders in the British modern soul scene.
We hear all about Neil's love of The Jam, The Style Council and Paul Weller Solo (including nights with the Movement in the early 90s) and his take on becoming friends with, and working with Paul Weller in recent years.
We also dive in to his wonderful memoir - Boys Dreaming Soul - a touching, funny and heart-warming read that documents Neil's formative years of the 1970s to his 1980s coming-of-age, through a tale of shared musical epiphany and a soul-searching ambition to perform.
