Net Migration At Record Levels
Net migration figures for 2022 have been revised upwards - to a record of 745,000 people. Many on the right, including within the Conservative Party, are unhappy with this figure for a variety of reasons. Some suggest this applies pressure to public services such as the NHS and on the availability of housing. Is this an accurate diagnosis of the countries problems? And is it possible for the UK - and perhaps even the Prime Minister's electoral prospects - to sustain these levels of net migration?
