NYT's Latest Leftward Lurch, The Gullible White House Interns, Boston's 'Electeds of Color' Party
Jim and Greg finish off the week with three important martinis, right after they give the very predictable update of that Hamas official from yesterday saying his comments were "taken out of context" and that he does not support the recognition of Israel.
Then they give credit to former New York Times Editorial Page Editor James Bennet for savaging the paper by evolving from taking sides in debates to shutting down opposing viewpoints and serving only as an echo chamber for progressives about a world that doesn't really exist. Bennet was ousted in 2020 after running an op-ed from Sen. Tom Cotton that argued for bringing in troops to quell the riots in American cities. That decision led to a newsroom revolt at the Times.
They also scratch their heads over reports that the White House intern letter demanding a ceasefire in the Middle East was started in a group chat by someone none of the interns knew. Jim explains why that story raises multiple serious concerns.
Finally, they shake their heads at the obvious double standard as Boston officials take heat getting caught holding an "Electeds of Color" holiday party, to which white city council members were not supposed to be invited but accidentally were.
