Kevin Winters Part 1: Lost in Paradise

Kevin Winters Part 1: Lost in Paradise

By Wondery

On the evening of September 2, 2021, Kevin Winters was at one of his favorite restaurants having dinner in Lahaina, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. About an hour later, Kevin was seen on camera depositing a check at a nearby ATM. It remains unclear where Kevin went after that time. It’s believed that Kevin had taken public transportation to the restaurant that evening, and the place he had been staying was about 29 miles away. Kevin showed up on the same ATM camera the following morning, still wearing the same clothes he had on the night before. Kevin was once again making a deposit. Kevin walked away from the ATM that morning and was never seen or heard from again. Kevin had a close relationship with their mother; the two spoke twice every single day. When she didn’t hear from Kevin and couldn’t reach him by phone, she knew something was wrong. Thousands of miles away in Michigan, Kevin’s parents decided it was time to report their son missing. Nearly two and a half years later, Kevin’s family is still working to piece together the trail of bizarre clues left behind.

If you have any information regarding the disappearance of Kevin Winters, please call the Maui County Police Department at (808) 244-6400.
