The Chancellor used the Autumn Statement to announce tax cuts for businesses and workers, including a larger-than-expected cut in the rate of National Insurance. The government's improved financial position was overshadowed, however, by the Office for Budget Responsibility cutting its economic growth forecast for next year to 0.7%.
