Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - In Defense of Rudy Gobert, What's Next for Luka Doncic & OBJ to the Ravens
On today’s episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) gets things started with a deep dive into the viral sideline skirmish between Minnesota Timberwolves teammates Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson. With Anthony Davis and LeBron James looming in the play-in game on Tuesday, the T'Wolves absolutely cannot afford to suspend Gobert. Moreover, given what Minnesota has already invested in Gobert, they have no choice but to publicly back him. Later, the guys share their thoughts on the tumultuous weekend that was for Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. Now that Dallas has officially been eliminated from playoff contention, all eyes turn to the upcoming offseason and Kyrie Irving's looming free agency. Outside of re-signing Kyrie to a fully-guaranteed max contract (which nobody feels great about), Mark Cuban and the Mavs have limited avenues to actually improve the roster around Luka. Finally, J-Mac and Rob G close the show by discussing Odell Beckham Jr's decision to sign a one-year, $15 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens. If the arrival of OBJ means that Lamar Jackson will re-sign as well, then the move makes a ton of sense for Baltimore. If it doesn't, then the Ravens could come to regret this one.
