You're A Survivor
You know you're a survivor, right? Listen, I say that because you have literally survived 100% of the worst days of your life. Every time that you thought, "Oh, my gosh, I'm not going to make it, I don't know how tomorrow is going to be." You made it because you're right here, right now.
So why is it that we fear or why is it that we carry this anxiety about what can happen next? Because if it's going to be anything worse than what we've survived thus far, then, hell, we're going to be dead and you won't even know what it's like. So I want you to stay encouraged. In fact, I was checking out, you know, country singer Reba McEntire? I should say legend.
She has this track entitled "I'm a Survivor" and she says, "I was born three months too early. The doctor gave me thirty days, but I must have had my mama's will and God's amazing grace." What? It's something about that grace. That grace and that favor. Think of it maybe like, I don't know if you like mayonnaise, but like a spread? It kind of just holds things together.
Just when you think you might not make it. And you got to be mindful. Oftentimes of your own tongue because, you know, you have to speak life over your life. So be mindful. Reba continues on, "I don't believe in self-pity. It only brings you down. May be the queen of broken hearts. But I don't hide behind the crown."
Don't be afraid to feel. Because when you feel, you can heal. Just remind yourself. "I'm a survivor." I know I am. And you are too.
