You Could Do Damage
Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to the damage. The damage you can cost your life by not showing up, by not living your authentic life, by not being who it is and what all it is that you are destined to be. Sometimes that comes in the form of fear. Sometimes it comes in the form of distraction. Sometimes it just comes in a form of outright laziness. But at the end of the day, you aren't doing and being all that it is that you are destined to be. And how do we know that? Because of the desires of your heart. Are you answering to your calling? Or are you causing distraction because now you're living in regret of all the things that you wish you shoulda coulda woulda done.
I was on my walk and I was listening to H.E.R. and the track "Damage" and when I heard H.E.R. sing, "either learn me or I'm a lesson." I said, God dog. I feel like with anything in life, you either take time to study it or it's gonna make you look at how it's studying you. And basically what I mean by that is that you either take time to curate the life that you want or use it as a lesson as to why you're not living the life that you desire. She also goes on to say, "If you got it ain't no question, no it ain't no room for guessing." Stop wondering and second-guessing yourself about what it is that you want. You know what you want because you know what you feel. You know what you desire. I just need you to know that you're worth it. Stop causing this "damage," this confusion, just because you're scared. Push through that. It's okay to be scared.
You know, dreams don't work unless you do. You know, the magical things happen outside of your comfort zone. They say if you want to be great, you got to do things that great people do and great people do things that everyday people don't do. But what happens when we don't really tap into our potential? It's because we're taken our life for granted. We're taking our circumstances for granted. We're taking time for granted. How many times have you said, "I'll just wait it tomorrow." or "I'll wait next month, next week, next year?" Five, ten, 15, 20 years go around and you're just looking around your head is spinning. H.E.R. says, "careful what you take for granted. Yeah. Because with me, you know, you could do damage."
Imagine if that's what your dreams were saying to you. Imagine the damage of regret, confusion, not being authentically who you are, something that will plague you because you took your time here for granted. You know, we all special offers, right? Here for a limited time only. So I challenge you to live while you're still alive because you're worth it. So either you're going to learn your dream or you're going to let it be a lesson. Just don't let it be damage.
