What If Both Could Be True?
Have you ever heard someone (in particular a therapist) say something like, "Well, what if both could be true at the same time?" For example, you can be both joyful and angry all in the same moment; or you can be grieving the loss of something and be looking forward to a new experience in unison. This week, Kat is breaking down the beliefs behind both/and thinking. This language tool is derived from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which is based on dialectics or the idea that two opposing thoughts or feelings can be true at the same time. Listen this week to learn how something that doesn't make sense can help you make better sense of your experiences, relationships, and feelings.
