The street takeover scene in Los Angeles is growing in popularity along with a growing backlash from residents demanding that law enforcement do more to crack down on these dangerous gatherings. Often organizing on social media, people are blocking off streets to race and perform dangerous car stunts on city streets. In the last 6 months, at least eight people have died at or near street takeovers.
