In 2019, when Russell Brand was still a contestant on Celebrity Bake Off, "conspiracy theorist" conjured images of eccentric flat-earthers or your uncle, who was never quite convinced Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.

But, then, the pandemic hit.

Dr Naomi Klein's new book, Doppelganger, she explores the conspiracy landscape that went mainstream during the covid-years.

Oli speaks to her about this; whether conspiracy “influencers” are simply grifters; and why the wellness community found a friend in fascism.
