Lucy Edwards’ road to journalism, marrying her soulmate and embracing her sight loss

By Auto Trader

We’re in the Midlands for this episode with journalist, disability activist and raconteur extraordinaire Lucy Edwards plus her guide dog Miss Molly for a tour around Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham.

Lucy takes us to her childhood home, sharing the story of losing her sight and how she and her family have adapted both their space and their lives to foster her independence. We also visit her old running track, where Lucy opens up about how running made her feel 'beautiful' and helped her navigate mental health challenges.

Next, we stop by Highbury Theatre, where Lucy fondly recalls meeting her soulmate and now-husband, Oli and shares memories of their unique and unforgettable wedding. As we drive into Birmingham, Lucy reveals the everyday challenges she faces and her thoughts on raising awareness of visual impairments and the language around it.

You can watch Lucy’s drive and see gorgeous Miss Molly by heading to Auto Trader’s dedicated Show on the Road YouTube channel YouTube channel.
