Blokes Supporting Blokes | SA Brothers
John Denholm is the founder of South Australia's huge volunteer run men's support network 'SA Brothers'.
John started the group back in 2017 on the back of going through his own mental health struggles and coming to the realisation that the men around him needed a platform to support each other.
He never intended for it to be a big deal, but with so much demand, the network quickly ballooned out to include more than 25,000 active members.
John now carries the massive workload of keeping SA Brothers running, alongside his right hand man Jarrad Wadmore, with help from a crew of lads who put their blood, sweat and tears into actively serving the community through volunteer work based on helping men locally.
They also have the full time job of monitoring the Facebook page that's a constant stream of men looking for advice and support for everything from their mental health to needing help finding work or just looking for a chat.
SA Brothers is the only group of its kind in the country and is a shining example of what's possible when men band together for no other reason than to help each other.
The group makes a massive difference to thousands of lives each year, yet still struggles immensely to find the funding needed to cover costs.
Sometimes the drive to do the right thing at all costs takes a heavy personal toll, but for these guys, it's simply too important to quit.
