The weekend of the overdog

Our footballing priorities were divided this weekend, with a depleted raft of Premier League fixtures taking place at the same time as the FA Cup quarter finals.   It was a Cup weekend light on shocks, but Alan Tyers joins Thom Gibbs to analyse all four ties, as well as the league schedule which included a storming win for Liverpool, and morale-boosting victories for Crystal Palace, Everton and Bournemouth as they look to distance themselves from relegation trouble.   There's also plenty to enjoy in the league below, and broadcaster Caroline Barker is on hand to talk us through the likely ups and downs in the Championship.   Plus an appearance from Deputy Football Correspondent Jeremy Wilson who gives his views on the forthcoming England and Wales friendlies, and what to make of Gareth Southgate and Ryan Giggs's respective squads.
