Ryan Berg talks about his work with queer and trans homeless youth and how foster care can often seem like a pipeline to incarceration and homelessness. We talk why popular narratives tend to focus on LGBTQ youth's placement in foster care due to rejection from their families when really that only accounts for about half of the homeless population who's LGBTQ. Ryan also talks about post-traumatic growth, compassion fatigue, and recent efforts to work with his local LGBTQ community to provide care.
